There's an opportunity for local families to make a Chinese friend by hosting a high school student for the 2016/2017 school year.

From Hilary Grant (Larry's wife):

I am working to find host families for a few Chinese high school students. It’s probably best for potential families to think of this as a job, and treat it as such.  Meals should be provided, although not necessarily sit-down, and a room and study area, although sharing a room/study area is fine, too.  Single moms fine, mom/dad families better.  Some of the kids may need more parenting than others.
ALL of these students will be attending Mission College Prep in SLO for the 2016-17 academic year.  One will be a junior and has gone to MCP for a year; her English is excellent.  The others are younger, including two freshmen, and their English is not as good.
ALL host families receive a $1,000 monthly stipend, starting in August and ending in June.
ALL host families must be willing to drive the student to school and home.  If a host mom or dad works in SLO, the student would wait at school for that host mom or dad to get off work to pick up.... so, no need to leave a workplace at 3 p.m.!
ALL students provide their own toiletries, clothes, tuition, books.
Looking for families for both girls and boys.
