Our leadership team is made up of people who are passionate about community, wholeness, authenticity, and the reality of Kingdom life being embedded in all of life. Here’s a little about each of us:
Chris + Sarah Failla
Community Architects/Lead Pastors
Chris, Sarah, and their three boys (Joshua, Zachary, and Nathan) moved to Morro Bay in June, 2012 from Central China. Chris is originally from Central California, and Sarah is originally from Denver, Colorado. They worked with Youth With A Mission in Denver for 10 years before serving for five years in China. As a family, they have traveled the world serving the church and doing missions. Chris has a Master of Arts in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary and is an internationally trained CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) consultant. Sarah has been involved in ministry with women for 19 years and is a Life/Health coach.
YOUTH MINISTRY DIRECTOR—COAST KIDS/COAST YOUTH
Mike Miller is from Walnut Creek, CA and moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly. He graduated with a Fine Art and Design degree in 2017 and spends his time creating, illustrating, collaborating with other artists, playing, traveling, and working on his children’s book. Mike also worked with youth at Mount Hermon for a number of years, and loves creating spaces for youth where depth, truth, relationship, and crazy/silly fun all come together.
Children's Ministry (Little coasters)
Natalie and Tyler Penney grew up in the Central Valley of California and now live in Los Osos. They and their five children are passionate about community, gathering people, and serving their neighbors in practical and loving ways. They enjoy God and life to the fullest are creating a beautiful space for the kids of Coastlands to know God, know each other, and be an overflow of God's love to those around them.

These two adventure lovers do so much behind the scenes--from coordinating the worship schedule to setting up Sunday mornings to helping strategize and plan the Coastlands flow... they're a creative force that keeps Coastlands fresh!
