Our focus at Coastlands is to be encountered by the Triune God, to experience community, and to encourage one another and be encouraged by the Holy Spirit
What does Jesus want to do IN you, the Father want to do FOR you, and the Spirit want to do THROUGH you in 2015?
God didn't come in power, but rather in poverty. We don't find God in a cleaned up, sanitized, polished existence. Instead, we find baby Jesus in the middle of a mess, and even more powerfully, right in the middle of our flesh. That's the most stunning truth ever--Jesus came into our brokenness and brought his Father and the Holy Spirit with him.
This Sunday we heard the story of Lily's adoption, and looked at Ephesians 1:4-5--the heart of the Gospel!
What was Jesus doing when he kicked everyone out of the temple? Did it have anything to do with the miracle right before, when he turned water into wine?
When Jesus was 12 years old, his earthly parents...lost him. We take a look at his interesting reaction to being "lost."
There's no such thing as giving a gift--what makes something a gift is when it's received with gratitude.
Sometimes we would like Jesus to wave a magic wand and calm the storms in our lives. But what if he has a different way of dealing with them? What might that look like?
We often think we know what Jesus meant when he commended Mary for sitting at his feet, but Jesus was saying a lot more than just "this is what I want you to do..." What if this story isn't about whether sitting is better than serving?
There was also a whole different level on which Jesus was communicating, which is often missed in our reading of the story today...
